Allen Bailey Measurables:

Position: Defensive End
School: Miami (FL)
Year: Senior
Height: 6-4
Weight: 285
40-Yard Dash:

Strengths:

  • Has a good combination of size, strength, speed, and athleticism
  • Good pass-rushing skills, strong bull rusher
  • Solid burst off the line, great initial quickness
  • Uses excellent leverage to hold his ground at the point of attack against the run
  • Gives full effort on every play
  • Could play either end or defensive tackle

Weaknesses:

  • Lacks the elite speed to be a dominant 4-3 defensive end
  • Needs to add bulk to play defensive tackle
  • Struggles at times to get off blocks

Bottom Line on Allen Bailey:

Allen Bailey played a lot of defensive end at Miami, but he has the versatility to play either end or defensive tackle in a 4-3. He's probably best suited, however, to play defensive end in a 3-4 set.

Projection: Bailey has the potential to be a solid contributor at the NFL level, but he doesn't strike me as a guy who is going to be a huge impact player. Therefore, he is probably a late-first rounder at best, and may not be taken off the board until late in the second round.
