Strengths:
- Great size and strength with decent speed
- Runs nice crisp routes
- Has the toughness to go across the middle and make catches in traffic
- Good hands, consistently catches the ball away from his body
- Has long arms
- Goes up to get the ball at the highest point possible
- Adjusts well to the ball in the air
- Tremendous deep threat who can play either outside or in the slot
- Plays well against both press coverage and zone
- Good down-field blocker
Weaknesses:
- Missed time with injuries every season at Notre Dame, so durability is a concern
- Despite having good top-end speed, he doesn't have an explosive burst off the line
Bottom Line on Michael Floyd:
Michael Floyd is a good all-around receiver with the physical makeup to be a solid NFL receiver. Injury concerns may hurt him a little on draft day, but he will still be highly coveted. He spent most of his junior year in a spread offense, but did play his first two seasons in a pro-style offense, so his transition to the NFL should be fairly smooth.
Projection: A legitimate No. 1 receiving prospect, Floyd should be selected somewhere in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft should he decide to leave school a year early.
