Get Your Peeps

Week 4 Box Score Peeps

From Kevin Mowrer - cybersportsedge.com, for About.com

Shaun McDonald may warrant a pickup, but monitor Issac Bruce's condition. Steven Jackson is looking less and less like a top twenty pick, more like a top fifty pick. The Rams always are down, so they can't run more than twenty times a game. Armani Toomer may be a decent pickup. Defenses will converge on both Burress and Shockey. Who will be left open? Toomer.

Jamal Lewis finally had himself a game. Coles and Mason look destined to the same fate this year: being very bad, despite running good routes and acting like professionals.

If Larry Johnson continues to cough it up, Holmes will be the Kansas City back for the next five weeks until he goes down with an injury. Then, it will be LJ all the time. The Chiefs didn't look committed to the run here. LJ Smith is living up to the hype. In small degree, so is Greg Lewis who is valuable in point per reception leagues. I wouldn't touch any of the Chief receivers with your team. In fact, the only Chiefs worth starting are Trent Green and Priest Holmes anymore.

Lamont Jordan finally shows some signs of why many drafted him early. If you didn't get him from disgruntled owners last week, you probably won't get him at all. The Raiders passing game looks like a lot of Moss, a little Porter and Anderson. Nothing else. Dallas continues to be feast or famine for guys like Terry Glenn and Keyshawn Johnson. Jason Witten looks like he's finding his place in this world though.

Melwelde Moore is looking like he's worth the hype this website poured on him over the past few weeks. True, the Vikes are not going to light the world on fire, but he looks as solid as guys drafted way before him. If you're point per reception, Moore is even more valuable. Troy Williamson may emerge like Roy Williams did last year as a top receiver as Nate Burleson continues to sit out. Falcons are still dependent on the backs and tight ends. No WR is really standing out.

Marcel Shipp is worth the pickup from two weeks ago. He is producing the numbers JJ Arrington was supposed to, but didn't. Fitzgerald and Boldin will put up numbers if the offense can continue to click. In San Fran, it looks like Alex Smith will be the man soon. That will hurt everyone in this offense, though CSE favorite Brandon Lloyd is the only one getting off currently.

Keary Colbert is flirting with being good. Of course, he won't get there because he is just that tantalizing guy who tempts you into bringing him in off the wire to give you one catch for seven yards once you do. David Martin is a tight end no one should want; Antonio Chatman also is a receiver no one should want. Yet, they're the guys people are picking up off the Packers. Driver and Green are okay, but not what you envisioned when you drafted them. Ferguson, who looked like a breakout last week, returned to non-factor status. Speaking of non-factor, I hope you don't have DeShaun Foster because you saw him get as much as he's gonna last week. Steve Smith didn't do anything, as he won't half the weeks this year. Carolina isn't a fantasy hotbed; neither is Jake Delhomme. Favre looks bewildered, but still should be a fantasy starter.
