Position: Wide Receiver
School: Notre Dame
Status: Senior
Height: 6-5
Weight: 228
40-Yard Dash: 4.57 (EST)
Positives:
Maurice Stovall has excellent size and good leaping ability to catch the ball at it's highest point. He excelled when given an opportunity to work at WR in the offense at Notre Dame. He always seemed to make the big-time catch when they needed him to. He played in a pro-style offense under Charlie Wies and learned to play the game the NFL way. He's a solid route runner as well and may be one of the most underrated WRs in the draft. Speed may be an issue, but has a lot of "football speed"
Negatives:
Speed is an issue for him as he doesn't have the elite timed speed. He also may be a tweener prospect as a TE or WR with no true position. He drops balls due to lack of concentration at times as well.
Overview:
Maurice Stovall has to be used correctly or find a true position. If he does, he could succeed in the NFL; maybe even be dominant. I think he could be best used as a TE in a passing offense and be as dominant as any in the league. He improved greatly under Wies at Notre Dame and should continue to develop in the NFL. He probably will be a late day-1 pick, but could be one of the better WRs to come out of this draft once his career over.
