Brian Orakpo

An Illustrated Profile of 2009 NFL Draft Prospect Brian Orakpo

From James Alder, About.com

Offense: QB RB FB WR TE OT OG C
Defense: DT NT DE Hybrid DE/OLB OLB ILB FS SS CB
Special Teams: K P RS LS

Texas defensive end Brian Orakpo is a physically dominating player and can be a huge disruptive force at times. At 6-4 and 260 pounds, he has amazing physical skills and is a leader and a huge reason for the Longhorns' success in 2008.

He plays equally well against the pass and the run. He's a smart player who reads and reacts well to the play. And he hustles on every down.

Perhaps his greatest attribute is his ability to pressure the passer. He has great pass-rushing skills, getting off the ball quickly and delivering a strong punch at the line of scrimmage. He also uses good technique and has some quality pass-rushing moves. And while he might be a bit undersized for some teams, he has great strength that gives him the option of overpowering blockers or using his speed to get around the corner.

He could potentially make the move to rush linebacker in a 3-4 defense.
