With two full seasons under his belt, most of it as a starter, Georgia quarterback Matthew Stafford was expected to become one of the premiere signal callers in all of college football during his junior year. And while he may not have taken the leap some expected him to make this year, he's certainly done nothing to hurt himself. Despite not posting eye-popping numbers, most still consider him one of the top prospects in the 2009 NFL draft should he decide to forego his final year of eligibility.
With one game remaining on the schedule, Stafford has completed more than 60% of his passes for 2,802 yards and 17 touchdowns, and the Bulldogs appear headed for another major bowl game when the season ends.
Stafford has been named a semifinalist for the Davey O'Brien Quarterback Award.
