Andre Smith Scouting Report:
However, in my view, he could be great playing on the right side or maybe even left guard. He reminds me of Big Leonard Davis when he came out of Texas and was expected to play left tackle for the Arizona Cardinals. Davis was decent at the tackle position, but didn't find great success until he was moved to the inside where he is now one of the best in the game.
If Smith is ultimately going to be shifted from left tackle, then he's probably going to be selected too high in the draft because he's most likely going to go in the top ten where some team will view him as a left tackle.
Smith has decent mobility for his size, and he delivers a nice punch off the line. But there is some concern that he won't be able to handle elite edge rushers in the NFL, which makes him a bit of a risky pick high in the draft. His weight could become an issue as well if he doesn't keep it under control.
