Redskins Draft Needs / Redskins Draft Board
Urgent: The Redskins urgently need to draft their left offensive tackle for the future to eventually pair with Stephon Heyer once Chris Samuels and Jon Jansen retire. Washington also needs to draft a huge run-stuffing old-school left defensive end.
Strong: A pass rusher is needed as Jason Taylor has been cut and Andre Carter is mediocre. Washington needs to draft a strong, young, versatile linebacker who can play both in the middle and the strong side to eventually play alongside Rocky McIntosh and H.B. Blades. Drafting a new place kicker and punter could be a nice boost for the special teams.
Moderate: A second linebacker, a center, an extra offensive tackle, and a safety all would be beneficial for the depth chart.
Nice to Have: Best available players.
Wild Card: How much will Devin Thomas, Malcolm Kelly, and Fred Davis contribute to the passing attack in their sophomore years? Can the offense become a little less dependent on Clinton Portis in Coach Zorn's second year?
