Despite their regular-season success, few gave the Arizona Cardinals much chance to go deep into the postseason because their defense just didn't seem up to par. But after winning the NFC West rather handily, the team made an unexpected run through the playoffs to earn a berth in Super Bowl XLIII. And even though they came up just short against the Pittsburgh Steelers, they became a part of one of the more exciting games in championship history.
Offensively, the Cardinals were often compared to the Rams' Greatest Show on Turf of early in the decade because of their high flying aerial attack, which coincidentally was orchestrated by the same quarterback, Kurt Warner. They also had the best duo at wide receiver in the NFL in Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald.
The difference, though, is they didn't have a weapon at running back that compared to Marshall Faulk. At one point in his career Edgerrin James may have been that guy, but after leaving the Colts he didn't find near the success.
