The Carolina Panthers were a trendy Super Bowl pick heading into the 2007 season, but after a posting a disappointing 7-9 record, head coach John Fox found himself on the hot seat entering the 2008 season. His team, however, was a model of consistency this season as they rolled to a 12-4 record and the No. 2 seed in the NFC playoffs.
The Panthers feature a run-first offense with a quarterback who, while not spectacular, makes few mistakes. Behind the one-two punch of DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart at running back, the Carolina Panthers steamrolled their way through the NFC, edging out the Atlanta Falcons for the NFC South division crown.
The Panthers also feature a solid defense, and while the team overall may not be spectacular in any one area (with the exception of their run game) they really don't have any major weaknesses either.
