A popular preseason pick to contend in 2010, the Baltimore Ravens play a slugfest-style of football using a punishing, clock-controlling ground game along with a punishing defensive unit that is perennially among the best in the league. The team is very physical on both sides of the ball, and while their defense wasn't as dominating last year as in years past, they still can turn on the heat with their aggressive approach.
With the addition of Anquan Boldin, the Ravens have the pieces in place this year to become more explosive on offense. They have a strong-armed quarterback in Joe Flacco, an up-and-coming running back in Ray Rice along with Derrick Mason and Boldin at wideout.
Worth noting, however, is the team's lack of success against quality teams last year. The Ravens went 6-0 against clubs that finished below .500 but went just 1-6 against teams that made it to the postseason. That's a trend they are certainly going to need to reverse if they are going to live up to expectations.
