Out Behind the Woodshed

From Tiger Rowan

Also, in case anyone missed it, Willie's eleven yard touchdown run was straight up the middle, which should dispel any notions that he can not run between the tackles. Between the tackles...around the tackles...even over the tackles: Willie can run like so few others can. While I hope that the Steelers do not run Willie up the middle on every play, it is nice to know that if game-plan calls for it, Willie is indeed able to do so.

Again, it is no wonder that Ben was handing the ball off so much on Sunday.

Between hand-offs, Ben was making beautiful passes and smart decisions. For example, on one third down play, Ben dropped the ball between the cornerback and the safety for a first down. Later, he hit Jerame Tuman in stride for a big gain. And, the touchdown pass to Heath Miller (which will become a staple of the Pittsburgh offense) was right on the money.

Admittedly, the touchdown reception by Antwaan Randle El was more of an athletic play by the wide-out than a marvelous pass by Ben. But, having confidence in your receivers to make a play is also what great quarterbacks do.

Speaking of confidence in receivers, Cedric Wilson seems to be a magnet, with glue for hands, that makes plays every time he touches the ball. My gut tells me that Cedric is going to break a long one pretty soon.

In short, the Steelers have all the pieces that they need in order to win a championship...or six. The young secondary gets better every game. The running game has been rejuvenated. They have a sure-handed, rookie tight end. And, they have a quarterback who seems to find news ways to amaze me every game. While I do not expect this sort of dominance by the Steelers in every game, the potential to be that good is indeed there...which, in time, could be scary for the rest of the league.
