If you watched the game on television, you probably did not notice the crowd, because for some reason, the television crew showed very few shots of the fans in attendance. If they had, you would have seen a large percentage of the crowd wearing black and gold. Question: Could the vote on Jerry Jones' new stadium have anything to do with not showing the Steeler-friendly crowd?
The game started off poorly. Chad Scott is in
perfect position to intercept a pass and possibly
return it for a touchdown. Instead, Keyshawn Johnson
has four receptions (against Scott) during the Cowboys
opening 75-yard touchdown drive.
Question: What is the height, weight, and speed of
Artrell Rolle?
The Steelers answer the Dallas touchdown drive with a
75-yard touchdown drive of their own. Of course,
Plaxico has two receptions for 37 yards and a
touchdown. The reason I say, "Of course," is because
every time my fantasy football team plays the team
that has Burress, Burress has a solid day. I am a
member of two leagues, and Burress has had two good
days...both against me.
Question: Now that I no longer have to play Burress in
either one of my fantasy football leagues, will he
return to his normal, underachieving self?
At the beginning of the second quarter, Ben
Roethlisberger is flushed from the pocket. Just
before he is leveled by LaRoi Glover, Ben smartly
throws the ball away. Alas, his knee is down,
resulting in a sack...but I liked Ben's effort. His
presence of mind to get rid of the ball is not
something rookies generally do.
Question: When was the last time I saw a young
quarterback this mature?
After continually getting beat by Keyshawn, Scott is
put on Terry Glenn...with the same results. Two pass
attempts to Glenn, two receptions for 23 yards. The
only thing that saved the Steelers on this drive was
two sacks. On one of those sacks, Farrior forced a
fumble, but Testaverde recovered. Still, Dallas had
to punt...no thanks to Chad Scott.
Question: What is the height, weight, and speed of
Marlin Jackson?
During a six-play stint on Pittsburgh's third and
fourth possessions, Roethlisberger is sacked three
times. Ben had not been sacked in the previous 45
pass attempts. The silver lining is that Ben once
again has the presence of mind to tuck the ball (i.e.
not fumble) just as he is being sacked from behind.
Question: Is Bill Parcell's comparison of Ben to Dan
Marino looking a little more prophetic?
The biggest swing in momentum occurred late in the
second quarter. The Steelers had forced the Cowboys
back to the Dallas nine-yard line. Dallas was facing
a third-and-seventeen. Yet, instead of stopping the
Cowboys, getting the ball back, and possibly adding a
field goal before the end of the half, the Steelers
allowed Richie Anderson to run (yes I said RUN) for the
first down. Seven plays later, the Cowboys kicked a
field goal.
Question: Will a six point swing really make "that"
much of a difference in this game?
