Kerry Collins probably isn't the type of guy you would want to build a franchise around and he's by no means a spectacular player. In fact, he wasn't even supposed to be the Tennessee Titans starter in 2008. But an injury to Vince Young opened the door for his conservative style of play. He doesn't throw many touchdown passes or make a lot of big plays. But he doesn't turn the ball over much at all either. And that is critical for the style of play the Titans utilize.

Collins is a good game manager, and he generally makes good decisions with the ball. He distributes it evenly among a variety of receivers, making it tough for defenses to key on one player. The problem is, he's probably not going to carry a team consistently when other phases of their game aren't clicking, which could be a problem come playoff time. If the Titans get down and they are forced to rely on Collins' arm to get them back in a game, they could be in trouble.
