Strengths:
No doubt about it, the strength of this Minnesota Vikings team is its explosive offense. Unfortunately that offense hasn't been clicking like it did earlier in the season, much of which can be attributed to all-everything wide receiver Randy Moss battling injuries for much of the second half of the season. With Moss ailing, Marcus Robinson and Nate Burleson have proven to be good complementary receivers with the ability to make big plays, but they don't possess Moss's ability to dominate.
Quarterback Daunte Culpepper is coming off the best season of his career, throwing for 4,717 yards and 39 touchdowns with just 11 interceptions. And if it weren't for Peyton Manning's phenomenal season, he would probably be the league's Offensive Player of the Year.

The Vikings also have possibly the deepest stable of running backs in the league. Any one of four guys --Michael Bennett, Onterrio Smith, Moe Williams, or Mewelde Moore-- have the capability to start if pressed into service.

Weaknesses: As has been the case with the Vikings over the past few years, their potent offense has been offset by a struggling defense. In 2004, they ranked 28th in the league in total defense, and they gave up an average of 243 yards per game through the air.
Antoine Winfield was a nice addition and has played well at cornerback, but Brian Williams has been inconsistent and is probably a better fit at the nickel position. The loss of safety Corey Chavous also delivered a huge blow to secondary that has struggled again this season.
Overview: The Minnesota Vikings are a team lacking confidence right now, and when you combine that with the fact that they limped into the playoffs having won just three of their last ten games and just two of their last 22 on grass, their prospects look dim at best. Even if they happen to get a win at Green Bay after having been beaten by the Packers twice during the regular season, they will most likely play all of their games on the road. That's not good!
Despite the fact that only a field goal separated the two teams in each of their match-ups during the regular season, in my view, it will take nothing short of a collapse by the Packers for the Vikings to get out of the first round. There are just too many things going wrong for this team at this time, and they look like they just can't figure out how to win the big games.

This looks like another one-and-done team to me.
