Computer Chip Tracks Emmitt Smith Memorabilia

A funny thing happened to Emmitt Smith on his way to the online memorabilia market. After doing a quick search of collectables supposedly bearing his signature on Ebay, the future hall of fame running back soon realized 19 of the first 20 items that popped up were forgeries.
To curb the problem, he has gone high-tech. In the past year, WeTrak Inc. has been installing a small computer chip in every helmet, jersey, football, or other merchandise signed by Smith. The chip allows the company to track and authenticate items after they're signed. read more...
