New NFL Sponsor Hoping to Give Viagra Makers Stiff Competition

Bayer Pharmaceuticals Corp. and GlaxoSmithKline, makers of an experimental impotence drug, have signed a three-year sponsorship deal with the National Football League. The Associated Press reports the deal to be worth around 18 million big ones, but company officials feel it is a tiny investment to enter what appears to be a rapidly swelling market. The two companies expect their up-and-coming drug Levitra to be approved by the Food and Drug Administration later this year, and hope to provide stiff competition for their already-immense competitor, Viagra.
