Razorbacks Andrews Jumping Ship
Wednesday December 17, 2003
Arkansas offensive tackle Shawn Andrews will not be playing in the Independence Bowl on December 31, but the junior lineman will be available for next April's NFL Draft. He told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Tuesday that he has withdrawn from school and will enter the draft.
Andrews found out Tuesday that he wouldn't be academically eligible for the bowl game, which he blamed on a poor showing in final exams due to a sinus infection, stress, and a lack of sleep. At this time, he is projected as a top-15 pick and may be the best run blocker in the draft.
