The Chris Henry Weekly Rap Sheet

Thursday June 15, 2006
How bad are things on the Chris Henry front? With the increasing frequency of his name on police blotters, it's getting to the point where media outlets are going to start reporting when he doesn't get arrested.

"This just in. Our sources in Ohio, Kentucky, and Florida have confirmed that Chris Henry has not been arrested today. I repeat; he has not been arrested today.... yet! Could this be the beginning of the end of his streak of lawlessness or is he simply resting up for his next crime spree?"

As you've probably heard by now, on Wednesday, Henry was arrested again. And by the time I'm finished writing and publishing this article, the promising young Bengals' receiver will probably have been arrested again.

Since December, Henry has been arrested for allegedly being in possession of marijuana, waving a gun at a crowd of people, driving under the influence, and (his latest charge) providing alcohol to three young ladies under the age of 18. And all four alleged crimes are the result of separate incidents. This isn't a case of multiple charges being filed due to one lapse in judgment. This is a case of simple disregard for the law; a habit that has been repeated far too frequently over the last six months.

This latest case stems from an incident that occurred in April. Henry allegedly provided alcohol for three girls, ages 18, 16, and 15. A police investigation was sparked when the 18-year-old accused Henry of raping her. Later the woman, who was picked up for prostitution a week following the incident, confessed the sex was consensual. She has been charged with falsely reporting an incident.

Sounds like she's been busy as well.

Fantasy Impact: Chris Henry could have been a nice little bargain pick, but he's proven to be unreliable this offseason. Assuming the Bengals don't kick him to the curb, someone in your league is bound to take a chance on him late. It won't be me.
