Vick Co-Defendant Gets Light Sentence

Friday December 14, 2007
Judge Henry Hudson, the same judge who presided over the Michael Vick case, sentenced the former NFL superstar's co-defendant, Tony Taylor, to just two months in prison Friday for his role in the Bad Newz Kennels dog fighting ring. On the surface, it hardly seems like a fair judgement considering Vick was sentenced to 23 months while Purnell Peace and Quantis Phillips received 18 and 21 months respectively

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why, though.

When it came time to own up to what he did and to aid authorities in the investigation, he didn't waste any time. And because of it, he'll be out enjoying his freedom in a matter of weeks while his partners in crime are spending a large part of the next two years behind bars.

Of course, this probably does put a slight strain on the relationship between Taylor and his co-defendants.
