Sopranos 'Vito' Shows His Support for Giants

Friday January 25, 2008
Football fans, on a general basis, are crazy when it comes to their favorite team. It seems Joe Gannascoli ("Vito" from the Sopranos) has a little of that craziness in him as well. Not as crazy, certainly, as the guy having a New England Patriots helmet tattooed on his bald head, but maybe just a little on the nutty side nonetheless.

The above photo shows Joe, his wife Diana, and their dog, who probably is named Blue (although I can't confirm that). Before you adjust the color on your monitor, the dog in the picture really does have a blue tint to him. In support of their New York Giants, the couple dyed Fido blue, and then the trio made an appearance Friday morning on "Good Day New York", which airs on FOX5 WNYW.

I have to say I love Joe's enthusiasm for the game. And I give him credit for choosing something not quite as branding as a tattoo on the head or permanent as legally changing his name to Peyton Manning. Using the dog was a brilliant move as well instead of, like, dying his own hair blue or shaving an image of Eli Manning in his back hair.

I just wonder if this was a proud day for the dog or if he dreads facing his little canine friends again.

Editor's note: Joe has informed us that his dog's name is actually Lola Theresa, or LT for short (which would actually make him a her).
