The 2012 season is going from bad to worse for the once-proud Philadelphia Eagles.
On Tuesday, the team announced that star wideout DeSean Jackson would be placed on season-ending injured reserve because of the broken ribs he suffered on Monday night against Panthers.
Jackson was injured during the first quarter of the Birds' 30-22 loss--a loss that dropped them to a miserable 3-8 on the season and only intensified the speculation surrounding coach Andy Reid, whose leadership has been called into question during this entirely miserable season.
Jackson, who leads the Eagles in both receptions and receiving yards (45 catches, 700 yards), is just the injury victim on Andy Reid's cursed bunch. Earlier this year, the Eagles also lost both quarterback Michael Vick and tailback LeSean McCoy to injury. Both suffered concussions and both are still recovering.
Up next for the disappointing Eagles are the nearly as disappointing Dallas Cowboys. The two teams will square off on Sunday night in Dallas. It's sure to be a thriller. - Tim Hyland
