Much as I like to watch pro football, the annual Pro Bowl in Honolulu is a bogus event.
The game is supposed to be about rewarding the fans, but all it really does is insult them.
Players know it, fans know it, even NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell knows it; he almost cancelled the event after last year's game, when the contest looked like a pick-up game at a beer company employee picnic.
The NBA All-Star game is just as bad. Two things you'll never find at an NBA All-Star game: Bigfoot and defense.
Of the three major sports, only baseball has a watchable all-star game. That's because they take it more seriously than football and basketball players, and because it's harder to play baseball at half-speed.
