Eli Manning

By , About.com Guide

Position:

Quarterback

School: Mississippi Rebels

Status: Senior

Height:

6-4

Weight: 220

40-Yard Dash: 4.85

Positives:

Eli Manning has excellent size to go along with good fundamentals, instincts, and leadership skills. He is intelligent and makes good decisions. He has an outstanding arm and can make all the throws. He has good vision of the field and the defense, and is very accurate with nice touch on the short to mid-range passes. He sets up well in the pocket, has excellent footwork, and a quick release.
Manning seems to have a knack for making plays with the game on the line and remains poised in tough situations.

Negatives:

He doesn't throw a particularly great deep ball, and like his brother Peyton, is not very mobile. He seems to have good pocket presence, but at times doesn't appear to see the blitz coming.

Projection:

Eli Manning should be selected early in the first round of the 2004 NFL Draft, possibly even No. 1 overall.
