Positives:
Nat Dorsey has the great size and agility it takes to play left tackle in the NFL. He has good overall strength, especially in the lower body, and is a powerful run blocker... very explosive off the line. He keeps his pads low, plays with good leverage, and is tough to get away from once he gets his hands on you. As a pass blocker, he is very tough to get around. He shows good lateral movement and tremendous balance. Handles speed rushers as well as power rushers.
As a three-year starter, Dorsey is experienced despite skipping his senior season. He was a two-time all-ACC selection at Georgia Tech where he started every game as a junior. He earned the starting left tackle job as a true freshman in 2001.
Negatives:
Dorsey is an excellent blocker, but he needs to clean up his footwork. At times, he seems to play with a lack of intensity which makes his play inconsistent. He has also struggled with his weight in the past and tends to wear down when he is carrying too many pounds.
Projection:
Nat Dorsey has the skills to be a first-round prospect, but he needs some polish. He would have benefited by staying in school another year. Most likely, he will be picked in the second round of this year's NFL Draft.
