My name is James Alder and I am your new guide to Pro Football at About.com. I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to provide you with the best coverage of the Natonal Football League and all other professional football leagues. I also look forward to developing this site into the most complete professional football site on the internet.
A little about me...
I am a football nut! I live, breathe, eat, and sleep football. On Sundays you are sure to find me glued to the television, radio, or computer from early morning until late at night, trying to devour all the football knowledge I possibly can.
I have been covering the Sports Legends and Trivia site here at About.com for the last seven months, and although I did have mixed emotions about leaving that site behind, I am absolutely ecstatic that I now have a legitimate reason to spend my entire day Sunday in front of the television watching the greatest sport in the world.
My thoughts on this site...
Being a football fanatic myself, I think I know what most football fans are looking for when they surf the net. We have launched this site with a library of net links that contains nearly 300 links. Over the next few months that library will grow to over 1,000 links with everything from team and player pages to statistics and scoreboards. I want you to be able to find anything pertaining to football by starting at Profootball.about.com.
During the off season, I will continue to give you updates on a weekly basis at a minimum. During the season there will be something new going on all the time, from coverage of all the latest games and standings to keeping you up to date on injuries and lineup changes. I will also preview the biggest games each week.
Other areas of interest...
I would like to get as much feedback from the viewers as possible so that I know what you want to see at this site. You can provide feedback and interact with other football fans at the Pro Football Forum, a bulletin board that is open to everyone to post their thoughts and opinions.
Another fantastic area is the Pro Football Chat Room. You can use this chat room to discuss the latest games or anything that pertains to football. Feel free to vent your frustrations about a bad call by the referee, or a bone-headed play by one of the players on your favorite team. You can also do a little trash talking as long as things don't get too carried away.
