Comment on This Mock Draft
25. Giants - Taylor Jacobs WR - The Giants need another WR opposite Toomer and Jacobs. It would help to make sure Toomer or Shockey wont be double covered.
26. Steelers - Mike Doss S - The Steelers suffered a bit on defense this year. They could also take a QB or CB here as well. Polamalu could also be a choice if he is still available.
27. 49ers - Rashaun Woods WR - The Niners need either a WR, DL or CB. Woods would be a good fit to take pressure off Owens. Streets is a good WR but J.J. Stokes has played himself out of a job. The Niners had great success getting Jerry Rice in 1985, a player who was considered too slow because of his combine time. Woods isn't known to be a speed burner, but came up big two years in a row against a very fast Oklahoma team. He might have the same game speed that Rice seems to have. A DL would be good here too as Young and Stubblefield are showing their age and Andre Carter will need help on the other side. Jason Webster and Mike Rumph dont seem to be cutting it. Any of the CB's mentioned before could go here if available if the Niners dont trade up. Andre Woolfork, Derrick Strait or Shane Walton would be good picks here also, although Walton may be a reach here since he has only been playing CB for two years. Woolfork is a gamble too, but has great upside if he shows the potential he did at OU as a shutdown corner.
28. Titans - Eric Steinback OG - The Titans could use some OL help to help open holes for Eddie George, who has struggled the last few years. Teams have stacked the box with safeties however, as it seems there is no real threat besides Mason at WR. So a WR could go here as well as Derrick Dockery from a Texas a big OG.
29. Packers - Gerald Hayes MLB - Matt Wilhelm could go here but not very likely since scouts have not liked what they have seen from him despite his great year for Ohio State.
30. Raiders (via Buccaneers) - Ricky Davis CB - The Raiders desperation to get Deion Sanders for the playoff run showed how badly they need a third corner when Woodson and Buchanan are healthy. Davis has good size and would allow the speedier and smaller Buchanan to cover slot recivers on passing downs.
31. Raiders - Onterrio Smith RB - It wouldn't surprise me to see Al Davis go after another talented RB. A WR could be taken here also or even a DE or OLB. Any of the players mentioned above at these 3 postitions could be taken by Davis.
32. Eagles - Gerald Hayes ILB - Although Levon Kirkland has played very well for the Eagles they could always use another talented LB. The Eagles are probably the most well rounded team in the NFL, they have good players at every position and they can take a player at any position.
