Panthers Draft Needs / Panthers Draft Board
Urgent: A wide receiver to start opposite Steve Smith and to also be groomed as his eventual successor. If Julius Peppers is traded to another team another pass rushing terror must be drafted.
Strong: A quarterback to back up Jake Delhomme and to also be groomed as his eventual successor.
Moderate: A strong side linebacker to be groomed behind Na'il Diggs and a defensive tackle of the future need to be drafted.
Nice to have: Another defensive tackle, a full back, an offensive guard, and young place kicker are nice-to-haves.
Questions: Will Julius Peppers stay or go; if he stays will he be happy? Can receiver Dwayne Jarrett be the eventual successor to Mushin Muhammad, or is he a draft bust?
Answers: Offensive tackle Jordan Gross was resigned.
